About The Role

Ecclesiastical Insurance Canada, who are proudly part of Benefact Group, are looking for a Director, Technology and Operations to join our Business Solutions team in our Toronto office.

We are dedicated to leveraging technology to streamline our operations and enhance colleague, broker & customer experiences.

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Technology and Operations Director to join our Business Solutions team. The Technology and Operations Director will ensure operational execution of our technology initiatives and operational processes. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, operational acumen, and leadership skills to drive efficiency, enhance service delivery, and support the overall growth of the organization.

Key responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Implement the defined technology strategy and ensure effective integration of technology across all business functions.
  • Operational Excellence: Optimize operational processes and workflows to enhance efficiency and productivity. Identify areas for improvement and implement best practices.
  • Team Management: Lead and mentor team members within the PMO and support operations. Foster a collaborative environment that encourages innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Project Oversight: Oversee technology projects in conjunction with our partners, ensuring timely delivery within budget. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align project goals with business objectives.
  • Vendor Management: Oversee relationships with technology vendors and service providers, negotiating contracts and ensuring compliance with service level agreements.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate technology-related risks, ensuring the security and integrity of data and systems. Implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the primary point of contact for technology and operational initiatives, effectively communicating with stakeholders at all levels, including executive leadership.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize data analytics to drive insights and inform strategic decisions. Monitor key performance indicators to measure the effectiveness of technology and operations initiatives.

Knowledge, Skills, And Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in technology and operations management, preferably within the insurance or financial services industry.
  • Proven experience in leading technology projects and operational transformations.
  • Strong understanding of insurance industry trends, regulations, and best practices.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in data analytics and business intelligence tools.
  • Knowledge of emerging technologies and their potential impact on the insurance sector.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.
  • Customer-first mentality in addressing business and customer-impacting issues.
