Job Description

As a Director, Financial Forecasting and Budgeting, you will lead the strategic planning and execution of key business initiatives, driving operational excellence and organizational growth. You will collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement comprehensive business plans, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and optimal resource allocation. You will also foster cross-functional partnerships to enhance efficiency and achieve long-term business goals.

The Strategy & Operating Office within the Technology & Operations (T&O) department plays a pivotal role in the financial and workforce management of the department. Our team is accountable for the planning, execution and oversight of financial activities, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reviews and cost optimization.

Accountabilities

  • Lead the development of the department’s three-year financial plan, and forecasts, while also overseeing the Enterprise-level financial plan for Market Data and Cloud.
  • Partner with Group Heads to align financial planning with strategic goals and operational needs
  • Analyze and interpret financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities; deliver insights to guide executive decision-making
  • Strengthen cost discipline in the department by identifying key cost drivers and leading initiatives—such as demand and supply reviews—to uncover and implement cost optimization opportunities
  • Develop and implement comprehensive business strategies and plans in alignment with corporate objectives, driving organizational growth and operational excellence.
  • Foster strong partnerships with various departments and senior leadership, promoting effective communication and collaboration to achieve business goals.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to monitor business performance, providing regular reports and insights to senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities for process enhancements and operational efficiencies, leading initiatives to streamline workflows and improve overall productivity.
  • Prepare and deliver detailed reports, presentations, and updates to senior leadership and key stakeholders, effectively communicating business performance, insights, and strategic recommendations.
  • Own your team’s role in supporting annual project planning and prioritization efforts by collaborating within and outside the department to understand and document the scope, objectives, and resourcing needs.
  • Lead the strategic prioritization of department initiatives, coordinating efforts within and outside the department, and conducting thorough analyses of resource capacity and allocation.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional growth.

Qualifications

  • University degree in relevant field
  • 8+ years of relevant experience
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build relationships effectively with people at all levels.
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Demonstrated analytical skills and the ability to think through problems and recommend solutions
  • In-depth experience managing timelines on multiple concurrent initiatives, keeping managers and colleagues apprised of progress and seeking assistance as required.
  • In-depth experience working with various data sets, conducting sophisticated data analytics, and synthesizing data and information across a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to inclusively lead, inspire, and develop a diverse team of professionals
