YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

You will be responsible for overseeing and managing Agnico’s Canadian supply chain operations, including operational buying, inventory management, item master management, and supporting warehousing functions at our mine sites. You will also support international sites as required.

This role involves developing and implementing strategies to optimize supply chain efficiency, reduce costs, manage inventory effectively, and ensure timely delivery of products and services. You will collaborate with stakeholders at each of the mines, regional/corporate personnel, and with Inuit and First Nations impacted communities to ensure seamless supply chain processes.

You will ensure the team performs work in line with all department policies, standards, processes, and procedures.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement supply chain strategies to optimize efficiency and reduce costs
  • Oversee procurement processes to ensure timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services
  • Optimize inventory levels to ensure adequate stock while minimizing excess and obsolescence
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of supply chain processes
  • Monitor and analyze supply chain performance metrics to identify areas for improvement
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards
  • Drive improvement in supplier performance to meet end-user expectations for on-time deliveries
  • Minimize supplier costs for in/off contract purchases
  • Maintain a central repository of information related to audits, exemptions, etc.
  • Review audit results and confirm implementation of audit recommendations
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
  • Bachelor’s degree and appropriate work experience
  • A procurement/supply chain-specific training and certification is an asset
  • +10 years of experience in an industrial setting or heavy industry (mining experience is an asset)
  • Cultural awareness and prior work experience with Indigenous communities/businesses
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and team-building skills
  • Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office software, especially Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning software (JDE / SAP)
  • Fluency (both written and spoken) in English is required. Ability to speak and write French is an asset
Your Work Schedule
  • Offices in Timmins, Kirkland Lake, Sudbury, North Bay, Val-d’Or, Rouyn-Noranda, Toronto, and Mirabel
  • Travel to sites, Agnico offices (other than home office), and suppliers up to 40%
