Loblaw Companies Limited is seeking a Director of Strategic Projects & Analytics to drive capital planning and execution for No Frills in Western Canada. You will lead cross-functional efforts, translate data into strategic actions, and partner with senior leaders to shape banner initiatives.

This role requires strong analytics, storytelling with data, stakeholder management, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced retail environment. Travel within Canada is expected.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive business experience, preferably in retail, merchandising, operations, strategy, analytics and/or project management.
  • Post-secondary education in a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Proven ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives from strategy and planning through execution.
  • Strong analytical and business acumen, with the ability to translate complex data into clear insights and actionable recommendations.
  • Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to move seamlessly from big-picture thinking to detailed execution.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation and influencing skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with senior leaders, Owner-Operators and cross-functional partners.
  • Ability to travel within Canada based on business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead major and minor capital initiatives across No Frills in Western Canada, including new store openings, renovations and new business strategies, from planning through execution.
  • Lead strategic, cross-functional projects, establishing clear scope, timelines, accountabilities, performance measures and execution plans.
  • Partner with Operations, Capital Planning, Merchandising, Business Development and other enterprise teams to align capital investments, store plans and execution with banner priorities.
  • Oversee key capital planning and governance processes, including approvals, budget alignment and tracking of investments.
  • Develop compelling business recommendations, presentations and communications for senior leadership and the No Frills Owner-Operator community.
  • Lead analytics and decision support to inform long-term strategy, annual planning and key business priorities, with a focus on improving sales, profitability and competitive performance.
  • Translate complex data and business information into clear insights, recommendations and actionable plans.
  • Identify emerging trends, risks and opportunities and recommend actions to support business objectives.
  • Establish meaningful performance measures and reporting to assess results and drive continuous improvement.
  • Translate strategic priorities into clear execution roadmaps for Operations, project teams and stores.
  • Serve as a key strategic partner to the No Frills Leadership Team, Owner-Operators and cross-functional enterprise partners.
  • Build strong relationships across the organization to align stakeholders, influence decisions and drive successful execution.
  • Establish effective governance and communication routines to maintain alignment on priorities, decisions, risks and deliverables.
  • Lead the planning and coordination of key banner and regional leadership meetings, ensuring effective communication, decision-making and follow-through.

Why is this role important?

The Director, Strategic Projects & Analytics plays a key leadership role in advancing the strategic priorities of the No Frills business in Western Canada. Working closely with the No Frills Leadership Team, Owner-Operators and cross-functional partners, the Director provides strategic leadership across capital planning and execution, business analytics, annual planning and key banner initiatives.

The Director will lead the development and execution of capital initiatives across No Frills in Western Canada, from initial planning and store design through merchandising and in-store execution. The role will also leverage data and analytics to inform business decisions, strengthen banner performance and translate long-term strategy into actionable plans.

Operating across multiple areas and levels of the organization, the successful candidate will be a strong strategic thinker and influential partner who can move seamlessly from big-picture thinking to detailed execution while building strong relationships across the No Frills Owner-Operator community and Loblaw enterprise.

What you’ll do

  • Ability to travel within Canada based on business needs.
