At Loblaw Companies Limited, we succeed through collaboration and commitment and set a high bar for ourselves and those around us. Whether you are just starting your career, re-entering the workforce, or looking for a new job, this is where you belong.

Loblaw’s Hard Discount Division operates two market-leading banners: No Frills and Maxi. Together, our banners share a purpose to Feed Everyone. We take great pride in providing Canadians with fresh, affordable, high-quality groceries. Our fast-growing network of stores is fueled by our dedicated colleagues and franchise owners, who deliver a simple customer experience in-store and online. We aim to empower Canadians to Live Life Well by making groceries accessible and affordable for everyone.

The Hard Discount Strategy & Customer Insights team partners with divisional and enterprise teams to develop insights, shape strategy, and advance our most important business priorities. We work across a broad range of complex opportunities, bringing structure, analytical rigor, and a strong understanding of the customer and competitive landscape to support decision-making.

We are hiring a Senior Manager, Strategy & Customer Insights to lead high-impact strategic initiatives, accelerate our insight-generation capabilities, and elevate the quality of strategic thinking and decision support across the division. This role is well suited to someone who is comfortable taking an open-ended business question, determining the right approach, independently moving the work forward, and translating complex information into a clear and compelling recommendation for senior leaders.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead high-impact strategic initiatives that support growth in revenue, profitability, market share, and long-term competitiveness for the Hard Discount division.
  • Take ownership of complex and sometimes ambiguous business questions, structuring the problem, defining the workplan, identifying the required analysis, and driving the work toward a clear recommendation.
  • Partner with senior leaders and cross-functional teams to develop strategies that advance divisional priorities and translate those strategies into actionable plans.
  • Synthesize customer, financial, operational, market, and competitive information to identify insights, implications, and opportunities for the business.
  • Develop strategic frameworks, hypotheses, and data-based recommendations to address merchandising, promotional, customer, operational, and broader business opportunities.
  • Create clear, compelling, and executive-ready presentations that translate complex analysis and strategic thinking into a strong narrative, key insights, and actionable recommendations.
  • Develop high-quality materials for senior leadership, executive committees, annual planning, Board discussions, and other high-visibility forums, often beginning with limited direction or an initial business question.
  • Present recommendations to senior leadership and influence cross-functional stakeholders to build alignment, resolve roadblocks, and turn recommendations into action.
  • Contribute to the development of annual and long-range plans, including strategic presentations, Board materials, business cases, and executive memos.
What You Bring
  • Post‑secondary education in Business, Finance, Economics, Math/Statistics, Analytics, or a related discipline, with 5+ years of relevant experience in strategy, management consulting, corporate strategy, strategic planning, or a highly analytical business role.
  • Demonstrated experience leading strategic projects from an ambiguous starting point through to a clear recommendation and path forward.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to break down complex questions, establish hypotheses, prioritize analysis, and determine what matters most.
  • Strong business and commercial acumen, with the ability to connect data and insights to broader business implications and strategic choices.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret and synthesize information across multiple data sources without losing sight of the broader business question.
  • Exceptional PowerPoint and executive communication skills, with demonstrated ability to build compelling, concise, and visually effective presentations with a clear storyline.
  • High degree of ownership and initiative, with the judgment and comfort to operate in ambiguity, determine what needs to happen next, and move work forward with minimal oversight.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders, challenge thinking constructively, and generate action from recommendations.
  • Collaborative working style, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high standard of quality.
Technical Skills
  • Advanced Microsoft PowerPoint skills required, including experience developing executive‑level strategy presentations and storytelling.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required.
  • Experience with SQL and GCP BigQuery is an asset.
  • Experience with Python, SAS, R, and/or VBA is an asset.
