Job summary

Loblaw Companies Limited is seeking a Coordinator, Strategic Projects for the No Frills banner across Ontario and Atlantic Canada. You’ll support planning and execution of strategic projects, store openings, and major refurbishments while coordinating merchandising and banner programs.

The role requires hands-on in-store support, collaboration with Store Development, Operations, and Merchandising, and travel across regions. A college diploma is an asset and strong customer focus is essential.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of retail leadership or management experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Understanding of how operational execution contributes to in-store experience.
  • Experience with retail systems or ability to learn quickly (SAP/IPFR/BOSS/planograms).

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on retail systems and operational processes, including SAP, IPFR, BOSS, planograms, perpetual inventory and Sweda Mart, using this knowledge to support accurate product flow, ordering and inventory management.
  • Build and execute merchandising plans for new store setups in partnership with Store Development, Operations and Merchandising teams.
  • Provide hands-on support for new store openings and major refurbishments, including merchandising workshops and execution against banner directives and brand standards.
  • Support the development, testing and implementation of improved operational and merchandising processes and standards.
  • Partner with stores to drive consistent execution of company policies, strategic initiatives and visual merchandising standards; identify gaps and provide practical coaching and support.
  • Act as a liaison between Merchandising and Operations, translating business direction into store-level execution and helping resolve issues that could affect project delivery.
  • Use market and store insights to support merchandising and operational decisions within project scope, with a focus on customer experience and product offering.
  • Train and support on-site colleagues across departments on banner operating standards and ordering processes to help deliver strong customer service.
  • Manage multiple project activities and changing priorities while maintaining clear communication with partners and stakeholders.

Why is this role important?

The Coordinator, Strategic Projects (CES) supports the planning and execution of strategic projects, new store openings and major refurbishments across the No Frills banner in Ontario and Atlantic Canada. This retail operations role works behind the scenes to support store openings, merchandising strategies and banner- and enterprise-wide programs. The successful candidate will provide hands‑on, in‑store support while gaining exposure to both the operational and strategic aspects of the No Frills business.

What you'll do

What you bring
  • 2+ years of retail leadership or management experience in a fast‑paced environment.
  • College diploma or certificate in a relevant field is considered an asset.
  • Strong customer focus and an understanding of how operational execution contributes to the in‑store customer experience.
  • Working knowledge of retail operational systems, or the ability to learn new technologies quickly. Experience with SAP, IPFR, BOSS, planograms, perpetual inventory and/or Sweda Mart is an asset.
  • Experience coaching, leading and motivating teams to deliver strong operational results.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, organize work effectively and adapt to evolving priorities.
  • Strong collaboration skills, with the self‑discipline and initiative to work independently when required.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to communities across Ontario and Atlantic Canada, as required.
