The Directors Guild of Canada, BC District Council (DGC BC) is a labour organization representing key creative and logistical personnel in the film and television industry in British Columbia. The DGC BC Collective Agreement covers Directors, 2 nd Unit Directors, Production Management, the Assistant Directors and Locations Departments, as well as Production Assistants.
We are currently looking to hire a full time Director Services and Equity Coordinator.
DGC BC Job Posting - Directors Services and Equity Coordinator
This position will work closely with the Executive Director and our Directors Caucus Advisory Committee to promote DGC BC Directors, and to advance DGC BC Diversity and Equity initiatives.
Job duties include:
·Manage, curate and create digital content on social media accounts, including graphics, e-newsletter pieces, invitations, etc.
·Event organization, including assisting with and providing technical support for online and in person events (ie Director-focused Masterclasses, Developmental Workshops, Meet-Your-Match events, etc.).
·Tracking of statistics and data using Excel and other applications.
·Coordination and administration of Director specific projects, such as the DGC BC Spotlight Conference, DGC BC Greenlight, development related workshops, etc.
·Coordination and organization of meetings with Studio Executives to discuss the employment of Canadian Directors.
·Connecting Directors with US Executives as part of the DGC BC Directors Equity Program (in development).
·Assisting the EVP, Directors with communications to Members including invitations, notifications, surveys etc.
·Extensive tracking of diversity membership statistics and preparing annual reports.
·Assisting the Executive Director on the DGC BC Diversity and Inclusion Committee: organizing meetings, taking notes, tracking committee contact list and related statistics as required.
·Curating, creating, tracking and maintaining Diversity and Inclusivity information for the ebulletin and social media.
·Preparing Creative BC application(s) for programs and associated funding.
·Tracking scheduled activities throughout the year. Some limited travel is required for DGC BC initiatives and events.
Required skills include:
·Social media savvy (Instagram, X, Bluesky, Facebook)
·Creative ideation and related skills
·High School Diploma or equivalent office experience.
·Work experience in, or working knowledge of, the film and television industry
·Ability to multitask with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
·Exhibits a positive and helpful service-oriented attitude
·Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to communicate effectively with Members and individuals at all professional levels up to and including executives
·Strong organization, record keeping, time management and analytical thinking skills
·Able to work productively in a team environment as well as independently.
What we offer:
·The DGC BC office is located close to transit. The building includes gym facilities on the premise, underground parking for tenants, and secure areas for bicycle storage.
·Annual salary between $60,000-65,000, or commensurate with experience
·Extended health and dental benefits plan after three months, in addition to enrolment in the Canadian Entertainment Industry Retirement Plan and an employer contribution after six months

·This is a full time, Monday to Friday – 9:00am-5:00pm position, in the office. Overtime on weekends or evenings may include attending special events such as screenings, topical seminars, panel discussions, parties etc.
