Job summary

Humber River Health in Toronto seeks an experienced Nursing Executive to lead professional practice across our hospital network. Reporting to the Executive Vice President, Chief Nursing Executive & Chief of Clinical Programs, this role directs standards of practice, program development, and resource planning.

You will oversee RNAO guidelines, drive high-reliability initiatives, and collaborate with regulatory bodies to ensure safe, high-quality care. Ten years of acute care leadership required.

Qualifications

• Graduate Degree in Nursing.
• Current registration and active practice with the CNO.
• RNAO membership preferred.
• Ten years of clinical experience in an acute care hospital.
• Ten years of leadership in an acute care hospital.
• Knowledge of clinical research, education, policy administration and professional standards.
• Proven impact and influence skills.
• Current knowledge of professional practice issues and care delivery systems.
• Experience with program development, evaluation and education.
• Strong change management and innovation skills.
• Excellent organizational skills with priority setting and problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership oversight in developing plans to optimize services and implement professional standards.
• Prioritize resources and address changes in collaboration with regulatory bodies and HR.
• Lead resolution of adverse events and near misses with senior management input.
• Develop profession-specific communication plans for nursing and related activities.
• Oversee strategies to enhance service delivery aligned with vision and priorities.
• Ensure implementation of RNAO best practice guidelines and BPSO designation.
