The Director, Product Management reports to the Vice President, Information Technology & Digital Transformation.

Our company, a leader in providing compelling and unique rail journeys, is seeking a highly innovative and collaborative Director of Product Management to join our team. This role is crucial in driving the strategic vision, building a successful team, and leading the execution of our technology product portfolio. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the product operating model, with a proven track record of leading product managers and cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional employee and guest experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Leadership & Team Development: Lead and mentor a team of product managers, fostering a collaborative, high-performing environment. Act as the primary coach for your team, differentiating coaching from direct product management.
  2. Strategic Leadership: Define and communicate a clear product vision and strategy aligned with company goals and market opportunities. Lead quarterly planning sessions to ensure team alignment on strategic objectives and impactful problem-solving.
  3. Product Development: Oversee the entire product lifecycle from ideation to value realization, ensuring timely delivery of insights, prototypes, tests, and solutions.
  4. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Build strong partnerships with engineering, marketing, sales, and operations teams to develop cohesive product strategies and go-to-market plans. Collaborate closely with the Director of Engineering to optimize delivery processes and quality outcomes.
  5. Market Analysis: Set standards for conducting comprehensive market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and threats, guiding the long-term product direction.
  6. Guest Focus: Promote guest-centric thinking across the organization, ensuring guest needs and feedback inform product development and organizational objectives.
  7. Innovation: Cultivate a culture of innovation by introducing new methods and tools that encourage creativity, experimentation, and continuous improvement. Promote the sharing and scaling of innovative practices.
  8. Performance Metrics: Establish and monitor Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) for product teams. Hold managers accountable for outcomes, utilizing data to drive focus, alignment, and ongoing improvement.

Qualifications

Education/Certifications/Knowledge:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years in product management, with at least 5 years in leadership roles.
  • Deep knowledge of the product operating model and agile methodologies.
  • Proven leadership in inspiring teams, fostering collaboration, and achieving results.

Skills:

  • Strong analytical, strategic, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Vancouver-based; hybrid role requiring at least 3 days in the office weekly.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary between $160,000 and $170,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
  • Eligible for Armstrong Collective’s discretionary bonus program.
  • Comprehensive medical plan with 100% employer-paid premiums, including short and long-term disability, travel emergency assistance, vacation and sick leave, up to 5% RRSP/TSFA match, and two annual train tickets after the first year.
