Since 1945, we've supported local jobs and built a legacy of trust with our clients and team members. At Atlantic, your ideas matter, your growth is supported and your work makes a real impact.

The Opportunity

The Director of Planning & Inventory will lead the Ontario Corrugated team’s supply and inventory planning function to ensure customers receive their desired product at the service level they expect. Reporting to the Vice President of Supply Chain & Strategy, this role is critical for building organizational planning capability to support sustainable, profitable growth. It ensures alignment between business strategy and operational execution across production, procurement, and distribution.

The Director of Planning & Inventory leads a team of managers, planners and analysts with a focus on driving structure, establishing best practices for planning tools and processes, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance forecast accuracy, machine utilization, inventory efficiency, and overall supply chain responsiveness.

What You'll Do

  • Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing planning team, including senior managers, plant-floor schedulers and inventory analysts
  • Partner with Sales and Business Performance teams to ensure the demand forecast can be utilized most effectively for capacity planning
  • Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Finance, Mills, and Sales to resolve supply-demand imbalances and support integrated business decision-making
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) - including forecast accuracy, scheduling compliance, inventory turns, fill rate, and on-time in full delivery - and drive corrective action where targets are not met
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance planning maturity, process efficiency, and responsiveness to demand volatility
  • Provide senior leadership with visibility into planning risks, opportunities, and trade-offs to support strategic decision-making
