Equinix, Inc. is seeking an experienced Director, Product Software Architecture and Engineering to build and lead a new DevOps organization delivering an AI and container management service for Equinix Managed Solutions.

You will partner with product management to define requirements and operational goals, integrate with global ordering and back‑office systems, and ensure enterprise‑level availability as the service scales.

Qualifications

• Led DevOps, Platform Engineering, or SRE teams in a large org.
• Proven experience delivering Kubernetes or OpenShift-based infrastructure at scale.
• Bachelor’s in Engineering preferred.

• We are seeking an experienced Director, Product Software Architecture and Engineering to build and lead a new dev-ops team offering an AI and container management service for Equinix Managed Solutions. Duties include: Partner with product management to define requirements, service level objectives, and operational goals for the service; Integrate the service with global ordering and back-office systems to provide self-service; Work closely with EMS operations, EMS fulfillment, and Equinix network architecture to ensure the service design is compatible and well-integrated with existing infrastructure; Operate the service at an enterprise availability level as it scales out
• Service Strategy & Platform Leadership
• Define and execute the technical vision, architecture, and roadmap for Equinix’s AI and Container Management Service
• Partner with Product Management to translate customer needs and market opportunities into platform capabilities
• Establish Service Level Objectives (SLOs), operational standards, and platform governance
• Drive adoption of cloud-native best practices across engineering and operations teams
• Architecture & Engineering
• Lead architecture and design decisions and DevOps processes for Kubernetes/OpenShift-based managed services
• Ensure platform scalability, resiliency, security, and operational readiness
• Drive automation across provisioning, deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle management
• Partner with network, infrastructure, and security teams to ensure seamless integration with Equinix’s global platform
• System Optimization
• Drives and manages change across the organization by implementing improvements to internal processes and systems
• Proactively identifies gaps, risks and issues and influence key stakeholders across the organization to resolve them
• Stakeholder Management
• Responsible for providing objective and comprehensive input to senior leadership and executive decision makers
• Solicits stakeholder input to define comprehensive improvement plans that are consistent and drive standardization across regions
• Influences and collaborates with multiple stakeholders of multiple portfolios and projects to ensure effective release, change management and support plans are defined and communicated
• Creates and drives broad stakeholder communications with respect to portfolio status and budget utilization
• Develop operational KPIs and continuously improve service availability, performance, and customer experience
• Is accountable for successful implementation of approved system improvement recommendations
• Drives adoption of best practices and standards
• People Management
• Build and lead a high-performing global engineering and DevOps organization
• Responsible for succession planning recommendations and contributing to and driving the people development strategy
• Responsible for talent development, including quarterly conversations, career pathways conversations and individual development/growth plans
• Foster a culture of ownership, innovation, operational excellence, and continuous improvement

Experience delivering Kubernetes or (preferred) OpenShift-based infrastructure and operating it at scaleStrong and demonstrable operational experience providing a highly available global serviceBachelor’s in Engineering preferredProven experience leading DevOps, Platform Engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering teamsDirector-level experience managing managers, delivering multiple software products or services15+ years professional experience in a software development leadership role
