Job summary

Moreng in the Greater Toronto Area is seeking a Director of Operations to lead its precision manufacturing operation for aerospace and nuclear components. This role focuses on optimizing throughput, quality, safety and delivery while guiding long-range planning and resource allocation.

You will build and mentor a high-performing operations leadership team, drive continuous improvement, ensure AS9100/AS13000 compliance, and partner with global customers to meet demanding requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years manufacturing leadership experience.
• 10 years operations management experience in an aerospace or Tier 1 environment.
• 5+ years Lean and Continuous Improvement experience.
• Demonstrated success leading and managing high performing teams.
• Strong strategic planning and financial skills.

Responsibilities

About the Role

An established precision manufacturer of high precision aerospace and nuclear components, serving global aerospace and nuclear industry customers from its Greater Toronto Area facility, is hiring a Director of Operations to lead its manufacturing operation.

What You Will Do

You will own overall optimization of the manufacturing operation, from production throughput and quality through safety and delivery performance. You will drive long range strategic planning for manufacturing, oversee scheduling, forecasting, production control, inventory control and quality, and lead the operations leadership team responsible for manufacturing, planning and scheduling, and logistics.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain safety, quality and regulatory compliance across the production facility
• Develop and implement operational strategies to support company growth and effective use of resources
• Drive long range strategic planning for manufacturing operations including scheduling, forecasting, production control, inventory control and quality
• Plan and forecast future requirements such as new machinery, work centres, plant layout and workforce
• Lead adoption of new processes and products into manufacturing with a continuous improvement focus
• Build and mentor a strong, high performing operations leadership team
• Ensure compliance with AS9100 and AS13000 standards

Must Haves

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Management, Process Engineering, or a related field
• 10+ years of manufacturing leadership experience
• 10 years of operations management experience in an aerospace or tier 1 manufacturing environment
• 5+ years of Lean and Continuous Improvement experience
• Demonstrated success leading and managing high performing teams
• Strong strategic planning, financial management and project management skills

Nice to Haves

• Knowledge of lean manufacturing and six sigma methodologies
• Broad exposure to aerospace manufacturing standards beyond AS9100
