The Director of Operations oversees the teams that manufacture our high-quality products. You understand the importance of TAG Hardware in the marketplace, you know how to analyze data, measure results and act on them in real time. In turn, you drive success by knowing what levers to turn in order to get the exact results we want. You are a detail-oriented team player with sound decision-making skills who thinks and acts like a business owner.
We are seeking an experienced business leader who will provide management expertise in all matters relating to the operations side of the business; manufacturing, assembly, warehousing, inventory management, supply chain and quality. In addition to leading the Operations Team, you will work in collaboration with the Senior Management Team to achieve long-term growth strategies for TAG Hardware.
Broad Areas of Responsibility
Operations Leadership and Strategic Planning :
- In collaboration with the Senior Management Team, build a vision, develop plans and implement key strategic priorities in order to deliver a best-in-class company.
Use data to identify, plan and implement improvements to our sourcing, health and safety, manufacturing, warehousing and inventory systems.
- Take ownership of Operations costs; track and report and identify opportunities for continuous improvement, cost savings and efficiencies.
- Monitor and report team performance metrics consistently.
- Strategically support the Supply Chain Team to establish a robust and secure supply of goods, maintain and nurture relationships with suppliers, identifying risks, quality improvement initiatives, and supporting dual sourcing initiatives.
- Identify new suppliers allowing TAG to mitigate risk and support TAG Engineering in new product activities. Assess and manage the principal risks associated with TAG Hardware's business activities in order to ensure achievement of corporate objectives
- Lead the following Operations Teams - Supply Chain - Manufacturing- Warehousing- Assembly- Quality- Powder Coating - Injection Molding.
Lead, develop and mentor the teams to ensure they have the required knowledge and skills to effectively support our business growth
- Provide dynamic and constructive leadership by ensuring a healthy, positive culture that purposefully engages staff through effective and consistent communication and messaging
- Foster a high-performance corporate culture that promotes ethical practices, customer focus and excellent service.
- Create, document and enforce team policies and procedures that reflect best practices
Are you our next Director of Operations?
- A university degree with a professional designation, technical training or recognized equivalent in a technical field
- 7-10 years in progressively senior roles, preferably with manufacturing / operations experience, ideally in the modular furniture / home organization / closet sector
- 5-10 years of Management experience in a B2B sales environment that is fast paced and customer driven
- Proven leadership of diverse teams including success in recruiting, hiring, training, managing, motivating and evaluating employees in a 100 + person operation.
- Demonstrated ability to achieve results and exceed targets. You set a clear vision, align your team around common objectives, and foster commitment to these objectives
- Ability to plan and execute at both the strategic and operational levels
- Excellent data analysis skills and tech skills; working with ERP (preferably SysPro ERP), Excel, manufacturing software and custom report writers; forming and presenting recommendations based on quantitative information

- Well-versed in using ERP, Excel and manufacturing software (we use Syspro ERP)
