Job summary

Intact is seeking a Director of Engineering to provide national leadership for the Forensic Engineering team within a property and casualty insurance setting. You will guide complex technical decisions, ensure consistent practices across Canada, and lead regional managers to drive transformation and performance.

The role requires a strategic, results-driven leader with strong governance, collaboration, and budget management skills, willing to travel across regions and balance multiple projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in engineering/technical field.
• Minimum 10 years in engineering/claims/forensic engineering or related.
• Experience leading technical professionals and dispersed teams.
• 3+ years managing managers; leadership in complex environments.

Responsibilities

• Define national vision and priorities for the Engineering team.
• Lead and develop managers and engineers across regions.
• Harmonize processes, governance, and quality standards.
• Oversee budgets, resources, and project portfolios.
