Job summary

Rimkus seeks a Senior Structural Engineer in Canada to lead forensic investigations into structural failures across industrial and commercial settings. You will supervise engineers, manage multiple high-impact projects, and provide expert analysis for insurers and legal clients.

You will develop reconstruction strategies, oversee design specs, and mentor staff while expanding Rimkus’ regional office network. A strong client-relations focus and travel are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil and/or Structural Engineering; Advanced degrees a plus.
• Professional Engineer designation (P.Eng in Canada and/or P.E. in the U.S.) required.
• Multi-jurisdictional licensing or eligibility.
• Expert witness testimony experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and conduct forensic investigations to determine the cause and origin of structural failures.
• Lead a regional team of structural engineers and expand offices.
• Determine origin, cause, scope of damage and repair costs for structural failures.
• Perform site inspections across industrial, commercial, and energy environments and produce forensic reports.
• Develop repair, remediation, and reconstruction recommendations with design specs.
• Prepare clear, concise technical reports for clients, insurers, and legal stakeholders.
• Serve as an expert witness when required.
• Mentor intermediate and junior engineers; oversee QA practices.
• Manage multiple projects with timely delivery and adherence to standards.
• Develop and maintain client relationships and present findings to management.
