Job Title: Director of Finance & Operations

Work Type: Full-Time - Hybrid

Salary Range: $175K-$200K base

Location: Toronto, ON

About the Company:

We are currently partnered with a leading private investment firm on their search for a Director of Finance & Operations to join their team in Toronto. This firm specializes in secondaries, private credit, and is growing rapidly across North America.

This role reports directly to the Managing Partner and will oversee fund and corporate accounting, financial operations, and investor relations/reporting.

Responsibilities:

1. Lead and mentor a team of fund accountants and operations staff
2. Oversee financial reporting, NAV calculations, capital calls, and cash activities
3. Manage audits, fund admin relationships, and tax advisors
4. Drive accounting system upgrades and improve workflows
5. Support firm-wide initiatives and continuous improvement projects

Qualifications:

1. CPA + 8+ years in fund accounting/finance (private equity, credit, or similar)
2. Strong knowledge of US GAAP, private markets fund structures, and valuations
3. Experience leading teams and managing external partners
4. Skilled in financial systems, reporting, and cash flow forecasting
5. A hands-on leader who thrives in fast-paced, entrepreneurial settings
