The Company
Cedar Leaf Capital is a newly established Investment Dealer with unique ownership and a commitment to facilitate greater participation of Indigenous people, businesses and communities in Capital Markets. The firm participates in underwriting syndicates for Corporate and Government issuers to raise debt financing in the primary market. Role Overview
As the Chief Financial Officer, you will be accountable to Cedar Leaf Capital’s CEO and Board of Directors for the Firm’s financial compliance program, working in partnership with other key stakeholders across Cedar Leaf Capital and Scotiabank.
You will be an integral part of the Senior Leadership Team by helping drive the strategic direction and growth of the firm across Debt Capital Market syndication and the potential evolution into equity markets and advisory work.
As the CFO, you will be accountable for monitoring the Firm’s adherence to the financial requirements of the Firm’s key regulator, the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO), as it relates to the adequacy of the Firm’s Capital Position and the preparation of related Financial regulatory filings the Monthly financial report (MFR) and the audited Joint Regulatory Financial Questionnaire and Report (JRFQR) Form 1.
You will provide effective leadership and oversight of all aspects of the Firm’s audited regulatory and statutory financial statement preparation and tax-related filings and audits, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the financial results you present to Cedar Leaf’s Board of Directors. You will also be a key advisor and contributor to the Front Office and the Leadership Team when supporting deal participation.
You will provide effective Board representation, stewardship, duty of care, and ensure the business affairs of the Firm are in alignment with Cedar Leaf Capital’s strategy, standards and policies and procedures.
From time to time, you may be expected to represent the Firm at conferences, committees and working groups within the Investment Industry or Indigenous Community where warranted.
