Stevenson & White is seeking a hands-on Director of Finance to lead financial strategy and accounting operations for a Ottawa-based real estate investment and management firm. Reporting to the President, you will drive planning, reporting, analysis, and capital allocation decisions with the executive team.

You will automate real-time reporting, strengthen controls, oversee payroll, taxes, and compliance, and mentor a growing finance team while partnering across the organization to maximize value

Qualifications

• CPA designation is an asset.
• 7+ years progressive accounting experience, with supervisory experience.
• Strong background in financial reporting, audits, and compliance.
• Knowledge of payroll and taxes is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Develop financial strategy, tax planning, and long-term fiscal direction.
• Partner on budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling across functions.
• Oversee year-end close, reporting, dashboarding, and cash flow forecasting.
• Conduct variance and margin analysis for ownership and investors.
• Manage client relationships, investor relations, and compliance.
• Lead automation and real-time reporting to strengthen controls.
• Mentor finance team and serve on the Executive Team.

Reporting to the President, the Director of Finance will be an integral part of the leadership team and will be responsible for managing financial planning, reporting, analysis, and overall fiscal management of the organization. To be successful in this role, you must have strong people skills and be able to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders across the organization. A hands-on, entrepreneurial finance leader with an appetite for implementing financial strategy while driving forward automation opportunities will thrive in this role.
