Job description

Our client is an asset management firm seeking a Director of Finance to oversee financial operations for CI’s Canadian Wealth segment. The role involves leading a team of 15 professionals across multiple entities, driving financial operations, enhancing reporting processes, and collaborating across business segments. The position offers opportunities for strategic analysis of growth initiatives and supports the execution of our mandate to rapidly scale the Canadian Wealth business.

About the Opportunity
Financial Operations & Reporting
  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes across all Canadian Wealth entities
  • Review journal entries, working papers, and financial analysis prepared by the team
  • Conduct P&L and balance sheet variance analysis, collaborating with FP&A and key stakeholders
  • Manage internal and external audits, ensuring compliance and efficiency
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to support financial reporting and strategic initiatives
  • Lead process improvements, reporting enhancements, and system upgrades to drive operational excellence
Leadership & Team Development
  • Lead and mentor a team of three managers and 15 staff members
  • Foster a culture of inclusion, high performance, and continuous improvement
  • Provide strategic financial insights to support business growth and decision-making
About You
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience with leadership responsibilities
  • CPA designation and a degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Experience in wealth or asset management, or multi-entity organizations
  • Strong expertise in IFRS, US GAAP, multi-company consolidations, and ICFR
  • Proficiency in Workday General Ledger (preferred)
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment while ensuring accuracy and meeting deadlines
Salary Range

160,000 - $180,000 per year
