Job summary

The Facility Operations Director is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Facility Operations Program which oversees our maintenance, housekeeping, security, and material management services. • Completion of a post-secondary program related to facility operations and maintenance.
• Two years of building maintenance and management experience.
• Ability to respond to facility operations emergencies after-hours or on weekends.
• Alberta Boiler Safety Association Standardized 5th Class Engineer’s Certificate of Competency.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the Facility Operations Program across on-reserve and off-reserve facilities.
• Lead, manage, and advise on facility matters ensuring safe, hazard-free workplaces.
• Liaise with program areas to deliver quality services in compliance with health and safety standards.
• Identify maintenance needs and capital projects with prioritized action plans.

SUMMARY OF WORK:

The Facility Operations Director is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Facility Operations Program which oversees our maintenance, housekeeping, security, and material management services. The Director will be leading, managing, and advising on all Blood Tribe Department of Health (BTDH) facility matters in relation to all our facilities that we operate both on-reserve and off-reserve. The Director will liaise with all program areas and staff to ensure that we maintain a safe and hazard free workplace that allows us to delivers quality services while adhering to all applicable Health and Safety and facility regulations.

PROFESSIONAL & PERSONAL QUALITIES:

• Any management or technical certifications/training will be considered as an asset.
• Ability to respond to facility operations emergencies after-hours or on weekends.
• Alberta Boiler Safety Association Standardized 5th Class Engineer’s Certificate of Competency.
• Completion of a post-secondary program related to facility operations and maintenance or related field.
• Two years of building maintenance and management experience.
• Monitor and supervise the day-to-day maintenance and operation of BTDH staff/facilities heating, mechanical and electrical systems.
• Respond to requisitions for maintenance.
• Routinely inspect interior and exterior spaces and equipment
• Identifies requirement and ensures appropriate action is taken to meet the maintenance needs, including capital projects, of the various buildings and facilities of BTDH through a prioritized plan of work, which allows for quick response to critical needs.
• Understanding of the Blackfoot Culture and language.
• Must have excellent organizational skills.
• Able to work with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication, oral and written skills.
• Valid class 5 driver’s license and reliable transportation.

SALARY RANGE:

• In accordance with the Blood Tribe Department of Health Inc. Salary Grid.
