Job summary

Durham Community Health Centre in Oshawa is seeking an Infrastructure Operations Lead to ensure smooth facilities and services across sites. You will oversee infrastructure operations, health and safety compliance, and vendor coordination in a busy healthcare environment.

The role requires 3-5 years in facilities management, a relevant diploma, and strong negotiation and project coordination skills. Full vaccination against COVID-19 is mandatory, and the position offers 35 hours per week and

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Business Administration, Facilities Management, Health Care Management or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • 3-5 years of experience in facilities management and vendor management, preferably in a healthcare and/or nonprofit setting.
  • Experience with project management or project coordination.
  • Knowledge of fire pumps/fire panels, HVAC, and Occupational Health and Safety standards.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain internal and external stakeholder relationships.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and BAS.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Understand RFQ, RFP, and RFI processes.
  • Prioritize tasks in a busy environment with multiple priorities.
  • Must have valid driver’s license and regular access to a vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the manager effectively and efficiently managing all DCHC infrastructure and facilities for business continuity.
  • Assist Manager in development of a multi-year infrastructure strategy aligned with the organization’s strategic plan.
  • Proactively liaise with departmental leaders to seek input on infrastructure needs and opportunities.
  • Assist in managing all Capital Infrastructure projects including logistics management.
  • Effectively work with external vendors to ensure deliverables are met on budget and within timelines.
  • Assist in the negotiation of new site leases, relocation and related procurement or contract renewals.
  • Support with conducting engineering and facility tests/reports to ensure safety and sustainability of facilities.
  • Assist in supervising building design and systems and building operating systems (HVAC, BAS, Electrical, Access control).
  • Assist the manager in ensuring periodic and preventive maintenance and that standards are met.
  • Manage the facilities database, security systems and access control system(s).
  • Support the manager in designing and implementing required policies.
  • Support adherence to Health and Safety legislation.
  • Ensure maintenance and preventive maintenance schedules are maintained.
  • Provide oversight to building operations and contract staff and delegate tasks as required.
  • Support special projects or initiatives as assigned.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, inclusivity, and innovation.
  • Provide insights into service delivery design and quality improvement efforts.

Position Overview

TheInfrastructure OperationsLeadplays a crucial role in supporting the Infrastructure and Operationsteamin various key functions related to corporate services.The Infrastructure Operations Leadis responsible forensure the smooth operation of these essential services, contributing to the overall efficiency and functionality ofDurham Community Health Centre.This role involves overseeing and coordinating activities such as facilities managementandhealth and safety compliance.Additionally, may be asked toassistorserve on committees or project groups.

Qualifications

  • Experience with project management or project coordination
  • General knowledge in the following areas:
    • Fire pumps/fire panels

    • Occupational Health and Safety standards and procedures

  • Be flexible and adaptable.
