Director of Business Development Market Intelligence and Strategy (12-month Contract)

Location : Flexible (Sandvik Facility in Canada)

Currently we have an opening for a Director of Business Development Market Intelligence and Strategy . This strategic role will be pivotal in driving the development and execution of business growth plans conducting in-depth market research and coordinating efforts across internal teams within a matrix organization. The ideal candidate will deliver actionable insights support growth initiatives and strengthen Sandviks market position.

What you will be doing

  • Execute monitor and report on business development strategies to meet Sandviks financial growth goals.
  • Own the sales area strategy execution process and provide regular updates to the organization.
  • Conduct comprehensive market research and competitive analyses to assess new business opportunities and present actionable insights to senior leadership.
  • Collaborate closely with sales and business leadership to develop win-plans for strategic sales opportunities.
  • Own and develop the long-term opportunity pipeline monitor project statuses maintain accurate information in CRM and present updates and insights for business planning.
  • Build trust and credibility with internal stakeholders and external partners demonstrating a customer-centric approach and collaborative team spirit.
  • Foster strong relationships with Business Line Managers Sales and cross-functional teams to ensure cohesive and effective business development efforts.
  • Serve as a role model exemplifying Sandviks values and fostering a results-oriented customer-focused culture.
  • Stay informed on market trends and customer needs ensuring high satisfaction through Sandviks value performance and reliability.

What you will bring along

  • A strong background in business marketing engineering or a related field.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in business development and strategic planning ideally within technical or industrial sectors.
  • Proven ability to analyze market data and competitive landscapes translating insights into actionable business strategies.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with a talent for building collaborative relationships and driving partnerships.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a matrix organization balancing multiple projects and priorities with accountability.
  • A proactive adaptable mindset along with a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
  • Availability to travel as needed (up to 25% per year).
