Our client, Vercity, represents the private partners involved in two public-private partnerships (PPPs) responsible for the financing, design, construction, and maintenance of the Centre Hospitalier de l’Université de Montréal (CHUM) and the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC). They are currently seeking a lawyer to join the company as Director of Legal and Business Affairs.

Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, you will serve as the sole in-house counsel for the organization. You will support management in overseeing long-term agreements between the hospital centers and various service providers. On a day-to-day basis, you will work in collaboration with the business teams to fully understand and operationalize key issues. You will interpret the terms of agreements in light of the parties’ rights and obligations, provide legal recommendations, draft amendments, and propose solutions to any disputes that may arise throughout the lifecycle of the contract. Additionally, you will play a key role as the contract administrator by monitoring subcontractor performance to ensure compliance with obligations and alignment with client expectations. You will also act as a liaison with external counsel.
