Job summary

Carcross/Tagish First Nation is seeking a Director of Lands and Natural Resources to provide strategic leadership and oversight for a diverse portfolio of programs. Reporting to the Executive Director and Executive Council, you will guide land use, resource management, and related policy initiatives.

This in-office role requires governance knowledge, senior experience, and strong negotiation and relationship-building with federal, territorial, and First Nations partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in political science or related field; master’s degree preferred.
• Senior-level experience in land and natural resource planning and administration.
• Experience with legislation, policy development, and proposal writing.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for Lands and Natural Resources programs.
• Develop legislation, policies, and systems for land use and management.
• Engage with Indigenous governments, federal and territorial partners, and communities.
