Job summary

Wascana is seeking a Director for the Aboriginal Consultation Unit within the Lands and Consultation Branch. The role reports to the Executive Director and drives the government's First Nations and Métis Consultation Policy Framework, alongside planning and program development.

The successful candidate will guide ministries and Crown corporations on strategic policy related to the duty to consult, with a strong background in Indigenous matters and senior management experience.

Qualifications

• Several years of experience as a senior manager.
• Graduate, post-graduate or law degree with emphasis on Indigenous matters, or equivalent experience.

The Opportunity:

The Division is seeking a highly motivated strategic leader to take on the responsibilities of Director within the Aboriginal Consultation Unit of the Lands and Consultation Branch. Reporting to the Executive Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading the government’s First Nation and Métis Consultation Policy Framework, planning and program development.

This includes providing advice and guidance to all government ministries and Crown corporations with respect to strategic policy, planning and programs that relate to the government’s legal duty and its policy obligations to consult with Saskatchewan First Nations and Métis communities. Typically, you will have several years’ experience as a senior manager and possess a graduate, post-graduate or law degree with emphasis on Indigenous matters, or equivalent experience in a related field, demanding equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities.
