Job summary

CAAT Pension Plan in Toronto is seeking a Director of Investment Operations to lead the team ensuring integrity, control, and scalability across public and private market portfolios. You will oversee accounting, fund administration, valuations, tax, and custody for a ~$25B portfolio and guide governance reporting.

You will partner with Investment teams to support new mandates, drive process improvements, and ensure compliant, efficient operations across the organization.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in investment operations, finance or related field.
• Experience in pension plans, asset owners or investment organizations is a strong asset.
• Knowledge of private equity, real estate, private credit and related structures.
• Strong oversight of public-market ops across equities, fixed income, derivatives, cash.
• CPA/CFA/CBV or equivalent designation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead Public and Private Markets Operations teams with clear accountability.
• Coach staff and promote high-performance culture.
• Manage custodian and fund administrator relationships to meet service levels.
• Ensure accurate maintenance of accounting and custody records.
• Oversee investment-related tax compliance with external advisors.
• Escalate complex operational, accounting and valuation matters.
• Partner with Investment teams to support new mandates and structures.
• Drive continuous improvements and automation to scale operations.
• Support financial reporting, audits, and governance activities.
