Job summary

NordSpace is seeking a Director of People Operations & Health, Safety & Environment in Markham, Ontario. This role owns the HSE programme across facilities and drives People Operations across the full employee lifecycle.

In a demanding space-systems R&D and manufacturing environment, you will set HSE strategy, mature the management system, and oversee regulatory compliance, risk reduction, incident investigations, onboarding, culture, motivation, performance, and offboarding.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of progressive HSE experience in heavy industry (aerospace/defense, energetics, manufacturing).
• Experience leading or managing HSE programs and audits.
• Knowledge of Ontario OHSA, WHMIS 2015, WSIB processes, and environmental legislation.

Responsibilities

• Own the enterprise HSE management system and multi-year strategy, with KPIs reported to senior leadership.
• Lead onboarding and People Operations across the employee lifecycle (hiring, onboarding, performance, exits).
• Advise senior leadership, drive proactive safety culture and ensure compliance on site floor.
