Job summary

Canada Life is seeking a Director, Corporate Financial Reporting – ICOFR to lead the delivery and governance of the global ICOFR program. Reporting to the AVP, you will drive program quality, control design, and remediation across the enterprise.

You will partner with Finance, Technology, Risk, Compliance and Internal Audit to ensure timely risk reporting, strong governance, and scalable controls, while developing leadership across teams.

Qualifications

• CPA designation is required.
• 5+ years in external/internal audit, ICOFR, or related governance roles.
• SOX controls design and evaluation experience is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of COSO, IFRS, and internal control governance.
• Experience leading cross-functional ICOFR programs and governance.

Responsibilities

• Oversight of ICOFR programs including scoping, control assessments, remediation, quarterly certifications, and audit committee reporting.
• Advise operating segments and business leaders on design and implementation of controls.
• Improve control environment through governance practices and documentation standards.
• Support regulatory, accounting, and system transformation initiatives addressing ICOFR requirements.
• Champion process improvement and automation to enhance ICOFR efficiency and scale.
• Partner with internal and external auditors to ensure audit readiness and timely resolution of findings.
• Report ICOFR results and key issues to senior management and Audit Committee.
• Collaborate across Finance, Technology, Risk, Compliance and Internal Audit to support delivery.
• Coach and develop talent within the program.
