The Director, Financial Planning and Analysis is a key member of Canadian Banking Finance, providing financial support to Canadian Commercial & Business Banking. This role contributes to strategic direction, results, and the integrity of financial systems and reporting within the business line. The position supports and leads in the following areas:
- Lead FP&A activities including planning, forecasting, and reporting of business line results.
- Enhance financial models and reporting packages for planning, tracking, and performance reporting.
- Improve financial planning and analysis, including the rollout of new tools and forecasting processes.
- Provide deeper financial insights focusing on product, segment, and channel profitability.
- Support stakeholder management within the business line, finance, and support functions.
- Collaborate with key partners in business, portfolio management, treasury, strategy, and operations.
In this role, the incumbent will work with leaders across various departments and lead multiple projects.

- Champion a customer-focused culture to deepen relationships and leverage broad bank resources.
- Manage annual profit plans and forecasts, ensuring budget compliance.
- Oversee accurate forecasts by monitoring trends and liaising with field and partners.
- Identify drivers, resolve concerns, and provide insights and recommendations to leadership.
- Work with stakeholders to ensure effective and timely execution of initiatives.
- Lead the rollout of new planning tools and enhance financial reporting and KPIs.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly reports, KPIs, and dashboards.
- Review actuals versus plans, ensuring data accuracy and proper explanations.
- Build and maintain strong relationships within the organization.
- Evaluate and suggest alternatives to meet objectives efficiently.
- Support strategic projects and business case development.
- Ensure operational compliance with the bank's values, policies, and risk controls.
- Promote a high-performance, inclusive work environment.
Do you have the skills to succeed? We’d love to work with you if you have:
- A minimum of 7 years' experience in a related role with strong managerial accounting and financial management skills.
- Exceptional modeling skills, proficiency in Excel, and experience with systems like OBI, Hyperion, Smartstream, Anaplan.
- Attention to detail with strong analytical and presentation skills, including PowerPoint.
- Proactive communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong process management, planning, and organizational skills.
- Understanding of the bank’s financial policies and procedures.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing tasks and demands.
- High curiosity, energy, commitment, and teamwork orientation.
