Job Description

Reporting to the Vice-President, Finance, the candidate will oversee and manage aspects of the group’s financial reporting and operations. The Director will also be key in reshaping current processes and implementing change management. The ideal candidate excels in dynamic settings, navigates complex organizational structures with ease, and has proven finance/accounting experience.

Responsibilities include:

1. Managing a 5-person finance team to complete reporting under IFRS and US GAAP.
2. Positioning the team for growth through automation and process improvement.
3. Managing financial operations and controls over reporting, performance measurement, and SOX compliance.

Process improvements:

• Assessing improvement opportunities, managing change, and ensuring sustained improvements.
• Automating recurring analysis and large data set working papers.
• Designing practical Excel models and templates.
• Supporting team members and stakeholders through collaboration.

Financial Reporting:

• Overseeing quarterly consolidation for the corporate segment, including reporting packs for IFRS and US GAAP.
• Maintaining monthly management reports supported by analysis.
• Reviewing accounting entries and packages from regional subsidiaries.
• Assisting with liquidity management, forecasting, and compliance.
• Supporting Fund operations, tax, legal, and treasury on technical accounting issues.
• Establishing robust processes and internal controls meeting SOX standards.

Performance measurement:

• Participating in biannual business planning aligned with growth strategy.
• Reporting on key metrics like fee-bearing capital, management fees, and carried interest.
• Preparing quarterly operational result presentations.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• CA or CPA with 7-9 years of experience in financial statement preparation and at least 3 years in team management.
• Ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment and foster a “can do” culture.
• Critical thinking skills for complex problem-solving.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of simplifying complex issues.
• Advanced Excel skills and a tech-savvy approach.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics and OneStream is an asset.
