Job summary

Peterborough Regional Health Centre (PRHC) seeks a visionary Director of Finance to provide strategic, operational, and administrative leadership for the hospital’s financial operations. Peterborough Regional Health Centre (PRHC) is a regional hospital delivering acute healthcare to a rapidly growing population of more than 300,000 in Peterborough and the surrounding communities, including the First Nations of Curve Lake, Hiawatha and Alderville.

HOURS OF WORK:

The stated hours of work are approximate as schedules are subject to change with the operational needs of the Health Centre. Changes made to hours of work will follow the terms of the applicable collective agreement, company policy and/or legislation.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

The Director of Finance provides strategic, operational, and administrative leadership for finance (in collaboration with the Director of Finance and Reporting). A strong leader, the Director, Finance will oversee accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, capital assets, treasury functions, preparation of the financial statements, enhance systems of internal control and effectively manage staff. The Director has operational accountability and will provide creative leadership and oversight to all aspects of their portfolio while continually evaluating best industry practices in comparison to internal systems and services, with an eye toward both future needs.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

• Bachelor’s degree in Health Administration, Business Administration, or a related clinical discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive leadership experience in complex health systems, with direct oversight of budgeting and financial services.
• Demonstrated success in strategic planning, capital projects, and technology implementation.

WHO YOU ARE:

• Strong knowledge of accounting guidelines, accreditation standards and regulatory frameworks.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and relationship management skills.
