The Director is responsible for overseeing and leading the development of programs and processes to identify and manage the leadership development of top executives. This role drives initiatives to continuously enhance and improve Executive Development Programs, ensuring alignment with established objectives and learning goals. The Director will lead the curation of the Human Capital Committee (HCC) agenda and manage the development and review of materials to meet HCC needs, led by the CHRO and SVP, Talent. Additionally, the role supports the execution of the Leadership strategy through HCC and the Human Capital and Compensation Committee of the Board (HCOB), including executive development, leadership behaviors, SVP+ appointments, and succession planning, including CEO succession.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
  • Lead and foster a customer-focused culture within your team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
  • Manage the end-to-end strategy and management of the Human Capital Committee as defined by the CHRO, SVP, Talent Strategy, and VP, Leadership and Talent Management.
  • Define the leadership strategy and oversee the development of programs, processes, and policies aligned with overall talent and bank strategies. Collaborate with Talent Strategy COE, HR Business Partners, and other stakeholders to align talent objectives with business needs.
  • Conduct annual reviews of SVP+ succession plans in alignment with Bank Leadership strategy, delivering reports to HCOB, the Board of Directors, and other committees.
  • Oversee the approval process for all SVP+ appointments, including EVP+ appointment communications and logistics.
  • Manage the CEO succession process in coordination with senior HR leaders, external advisors, and the HCOB.
  • Research organizational leadership capability issues and develop recommendations to address gaps.
  • Partner with senior HR leaders on reorganizations of top executive levels (EVP+).
  • Lead annual reviews of all executive mandates for HCOB and the Board of Directors.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in executive leadership development.
  • Consider the Bank’s risk appetite and culture in daily activities and decisions.
  • Create an environment that promotes effective operations and ensures compliance with operational, regulatory, AML/ATF, and conduct risk frameworks.
  • Build a high-performance team environment, attracting, developing, and motivating talent through an inclusive work environment; communicate vision, values, and business strategy; and manage succession and development planning.

  • Post-secondary Degree or Master’s in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in Human Resources.
  • Deep knowledge of Bank policies and procedures.
  • Strong understanding of organizational structure and dynamics.
  • Experience working with high-potential executives.
  • Knowledge of executive development programs and leadership assessment processes.
  • Exceptional influencing and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify recommendations and opportunities from data.
  • Ability to drive innovative solutions that create value for HR partners.
  • Strategic thinking and networking abilities.
  • Vendor management experience.
  • Ability to translate strategy into actionable results.
