Job summary

Government of Alberta invites applications for the role of Director, Exam Administration in Edmonton. This senior leadership position oversees Alberta’s provincial assessment programs, including diploma examinations, provincial tests, and related tools, with responsibility for secure, fair, and accessible administration.

You will manage end-to-end operations, partner with schools and authorities, and guide digital delivery of assessments while ensuring integrity and public confidence in results.

Qualifications

• A related bachelor's degree in public administration, business administration, law, political science, human resources, education, or a related field.
• Seven years of progressively responsible leadership experience is required (assets).
• Experience leading large-scale, high-volume programs with province-wide impact.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary teams, operational performance, and organizational change.
• Strong stakeholder relationship management skills and ability to build partnerships across government, education sectors, and external organizations.

Responsibilities

• Lead province-wide assessment administration and ensure alignment with approved legislation, policies, standards, and operational requirements.
• Lead assessment integrity, exam security, and administration oversight activities and continuous improvement measures.
• Provide executive oversight of the Digital Assessment Platform, including service delivery and release readiness.
• Oversee assessment production, administration, scoring support, accommodations, results processing, and reporting.
• Ensure equitable access to provincial assessments through accessible practices and accommodations.
• Lead risk management, privacy, security, and business continuity planning to protect program integrity.
