Job summary

Royal Canadian Mint seeks a Director, Enterprise Data & AI to lead the enterprise data, analytics, and AI strategy in a dynamic, inclusive environment. Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, the role ensures data is trusted, secure, and leveraged as a strategic asset to drive transformation and regulatory compliance.

The incumbent partners with executive leadership to align technology investments with business priorities, risk posture, and architecture standards while building

Qualifications

  • University degree in related area.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in data analytics, data modeling, data management, and data architecture.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive leadership delivering technology solutions that drive business outcomes.
  • Experience with enterprise data platforms supporting reporting, analytics, and AI-driven decision-making.
  • Experience leading the adoption and scaling of AI, including generative and agentic AI, with a focus on business value, governance, and operationalization.
  • Experience leading enterprise architecture across data, application, security, AI, and technology domains, including standards and target-state roadmaps.
  • Experience leading cloud, data and AI platforms to ensure scalability, resilience, security, and cost efficiency.
  • Experience establishing governance frameworks for data, information, architecture, and AI.
  • Experience leading agile delivery and operating model, and DevSecOps best practices.
  • Experience managing budgets, strategic investments, vendors and technology contracts.
  • Demonstrate ability to build and lead high-performing teams while fostering innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Extensive experience bridging business and technology by translating complex data, architecture, and AI concepts into insights.

Job description

The Mint is hiring a Director, Enterprise Data & AI who can thrive in a dynamic and inclusive environment.

Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, the Director, Enterprise Data & AI is responsible for the Royal Canadian Mint’s (Mint) enterprise-wide data, information, architecture, analytics, and artificial intelligence strategy, ensuring data is trusted, secure, and leveraged as a strategic asset and competitive differentiator. This position will play a critical role in business transformation, enabling digital, analytical, architecture, and AI-driven capabilities that support strategic decision-making, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance.

The Director acts as a strategic partner to executive leadership and business stakeholders, ensuring technology investments are aligned with business priorities, risk posture, and architectural standards to become an insight-driven organization.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Define and execute the enterprise Data, Analytics, and AI strategy aligned with business priorities.

This position offers a hybrid work arrangement, requiring on-site presence at our Ottawa location three to five days per week, depending on meeting requirements and other activities.

This selection process may also qualify you for other positions with similar requirements and qualifications.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience of multifaceted business areas and IT, excellent presentation, negotiation, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills;
  • Proven ability to bridge business and technology by translating complex data, architecture, and AI concepts into strategic, actionable insights.
  • Strong expertise in modern data and analytics platforms, including Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Lake, Data Pipelines, Lakehouses, Data Warehouses, SQL Server, and Azure SQL.
  • Experience in ERP, manufacturing, finance, supply chain and e-commerce is highly desirable
