Pacific Blue Cross is seeking a strategic Director, Data and Insights to lead the enterprise Data & Insights Office, shaping governance, strategy, and capability development. You will partner with executives to drive trusted insights and data-driven decisions across the organization.

Responsibilities include building governance, modernizing data capabilities, and enabling analytics across functions, while guiding AI adoption to deliver measurable business value.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field and demonstrated leadership experience.
  • Strong expertise in data governance, analytics, and emerging AI applications.
  • 10–12 years of experience in data and analytics, including applying insights to decision-making and automated processes.
  • 7+ years in progressively senior leadership roles.
  • Excellent project and change management skills.
  • Ability to translate business drivers and challenges into data insights and initiatives.

Reporting to the Vice President, Information Technology & Enterprise Transformation, you will lead the development of PBC's enterprise data, analytics, and AI strategy, helping transform data from an operational asset into a strategic advantage. Working closely with executive leaders and business partners, you will establish the foundations that enable trusted insights, stronger decision-making, and greater organizational agility.

This is more than a data leadership role. It is an opportunity to drive meaningful transformation across the organization. You'll influence enterprise priorities, champion innovation, and create a culture where data empowers teams to better serve members, improve operational performance, and deliver on PBC's long-term strategic objectives.

If your experience includes roles such as Director of Data & Analytics, Director of Business Intelligence, Head of Data & Insights, Director of Data Governance, Director of Enterprise Analytics, Director of Data Strategy, Director of AI & Analytics, Chief Data Officer, Analytics Director, Enterprise Data Leader, or similar leadership positions, and you've successfully leveraged data, analytics, and emerging technologies to drive business outcomes within industries such as healthcare, insurance, financial services, telecommunications, consulting, retail, or other complex, data-driven environments

  • Classification: Exempt
  • Salary Range: $138,000 - $208,000 ( Pacific Blue Cross’ compensation programis built on a pay-for-performance philosophy, rewarding both individual andorganizational achievements. We determine starting salaries by considering avariety of factors, including relevant skills, education, experience, andinternal equity, ensuring compensation decisions are consistent, equitable,and reflective of each candidate’s unique background and qualifications)
  • Incentive Compensation Plan (ICP bonus) per year based on performance: Up to15.00%
Total Rewards Highlights:
  • Flexible working hours of 7.5 hours per day, Monday to Friday (i.e., 37.5hours per week).
  • Paid vacation starts at 4 weeks per year and increases with years of service.
  • Generous benefits, including extended health, dental, and life insurance;depending on the plan that you choose, these benefit premiums can be 100%paid by PBC.
  • PBC contributes the equivalent of 8% of your base salary to a DefinedContribution pension plan. No employee contribution or matching is required,giving you more take-home pay

What You'll Bring
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) with a major in Business, Data Science,Statistics, or an equivalent discipline, including or supplemented by coursesin leadership/supervision.
  • Strong expertise in data governance, analytics, and emerging AI applications.
  • 10 - 12 years of related experience in data and analytics including theapplication of insights into decision-making and/or automated processes.
  • 7+ years of experience in progressively senior leadership positions.
  • Excellent project and change management skills.
  • Ability to translate business drivers and challenges into data insights andinitiatives.
