Job summary

Pacific Blue Cross in Burnaby, BC is seeking a Pharmacy Services Analyst to join our Pharmacy Services team on a temporary full-time basis. You will leverage clinical expertise and analytical thinking to shape drug benefit decisions for thousands of members, across private and public programs.

The role blends healthcare policy with business insight in a hybrid work setting. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of community pharmacy experience; BC-regulated technician credentials are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years’ community pharmacy experience or equivalent
  • Regulated Pharmacy Technician in BC (preferred)
  • Familiarity with provincial health legislation and policies
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Demonstrated analytical and decision making skills
  • Experience in direct customer service is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate complex coverage requests and interpret plan provisions and provincial policies.
  • Provide pharmacy insights to support strategic initiatives and operational effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners to shape drug benefit decisions.
  • Guide coverage determinations and advise on plan design to balance outcomes and sustainability.

About The Position

We are searching for a temporary full time Pharmacy Services Analyst to join our Pharmacy Services team.

PBC’s compensation offerings are grounded in a pay-for-performance philosophy that recognizes exceptional individual and teamperformance. Thetypical hiring range for this position is $70,000-$80,000 and up per year; the base pay offered is based on market and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. The starting salary will be determined based on a combination of skills, education, and experience.

Working at the intersection of healthcare, policy, and business, you'll evaluate complex coverage requests, interpret plan provisions and provincial policies, and provide insights that support equitable, sustainable, and evidence-based outcomes.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex problems, asking thoughtful questions, and translating information into practical recommendations. You'll collaborate with, cross-functional teams, and external partners while developing a deep understanding of private and public drug benefit programs.

Key Experiences You Bring To This Role
  • Minimum 3 years’ community pharmacy experience or experience in a setting that requires a strong knowledge of pharmaceutical product
  • Regulated Pharmacy Technician in BC (preferred)
  • Familiarity with provincial health legislation and policies
  • Proficiency with MS Office, including intermediate level Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
