The Opportunity
As Director Commercial Operations at Abbott Diabetes Care you will lead the strategic integration of advanced data capabilities into the commercial function. This role is responsible for leveraging data-driven insights to shape business strategies, optimize market performance, and drive sustainable growth.
What You’ll Do
Provide direct leadership to Sales Operations, Business Analytics and Sales Training.
Use data and analytics to provide business insights and storytelling to all areas of ADC business, enssuring we are maximizing opportunities and meeting key deliverables.
Provide strategic input and supports issues resolution as part of ADC Canada senior leadership team. Establish processes, methodology and governance to effectively manage team effectiveness and business insights
Develop and lead execution of cross-functional strategic business initiatives.
Develop transparency information, reports, and Insights into market trends, competitive dynamics, growth opportunities, and purchasing decisions
Serve as a high-profile management representative for ADC Canada both within and outside the organization, with internal and external stakeholders.
Responsible for design B2B and B2C customer measurement solutions and deliver data-driven business insights.
Assess and recommend optimal salesforce design and organization structure, coverage, and productivity improvement – weekly, monthly and quarterly
Share responsibility with the ADC Canada management team for successful delivery of the affiliate Plan objectives (financial and project).
Find margin opportunities, negotiating with suppliers and contractors, constantly monitoring progress, quality and costs
Actively engage with ADC colleagues outside the affiliate to ensure alignment with global strategies.
Oversee and manage the finance and labor involved in a company’s projects. Oversee all commercial and managerial aspects of the projects to ensure they are completed on time and under budget according to finance. Also, collaborate with other executives within the company to decide on potential future projects.
Understand Regional (State level) regulatory environment and required changes for execution to stay compliant
Your Profile
Experience:
10+ years of professional experience with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role
Sales and Marketing experience with deep technical expertise with strong commercial acumen and leadership capabilities.
A minimum of 2 years experience in Insights management and 3+ years in Commercial Management positions
2+ years experience in data analytics or business intelligence, with at least 3 years in a senior data visualization role where you have presented commercial information to senior leadership teams
Track record of leading teams, developing growth strategies, and improving a business's market position.
Technical and Analytical Skills:
Data Analysis & Interpretation: Proficiency in analyzing large datasets, identifying trends, and drawing actionable insights.
Statistical Modeling: Knowledge of statistical techniques for data modeling and predictive analytics.
BI and Data Visualization Tools: Expertise in using BI tools and platforms to create visualizations and dashboards for reporting and communication.
Market Research & Competitive Analysis: Strong ability to conduct market research, analyze competitor strategies, and understand market dynamics.
Customer Insight & Behavior: Understanding consumer behavior and preferences to inform strategic decisions.
AI & Machine Learning Awareness: Familiarity with AI concepts and machine learning applications in commercial strategy, including predictive modeling, customer segmentation, and automation of insights.
Understanding of go-to-market strategies, sales enablement, pricing models, and revenue optimization
Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, P&L management, and financial KPIs relevant to commercial performance.
Working knowledge of AI/ML concepts, including supervised/unsupervised learning, natural language processing, and predictive modeling.
