Canada Life in London, ON is seeking a Director, Business Analysis to lead the day-to-day execution and maturation of a modern business analysis practice across a portfolio of initiatives. This role translates business needs into clear, actionable requirements and meaningful outcomes.

Reporting to the VP, BPMO, the Director, Business Analysis willleadthe day-to-day execution and continued maturity of a modern, high-performing business analysis practice. This role will help translate business needs into clear, actionable requirements and meaningful outcomes across a portfolio of initiatives.
Working closely with leaders and delivery partners across business, technology, finance, and risk, the Director will ensure assigned initiatives are well defined, outcomefocused, and positioned for successful delivery and adoption.
Lead and develop a team of Business Analysts, setting clear expectations for quality, consistency, and delivery.
Implement and continuously improve business analysis frameworks, standards, tools, templates, and ways of working establishedforthe enterprisepractice.
Build a strong Business Analysis community of practice through coaching, mentoring, knowledge sharing, and capability development.
Support the effective deployment of Business Analysts to initiatives while maintaining alignment to the enterprise Business Analysis practice.
Oversee business analysis activities across assignedprogramand projects, includingrequirementselicitation and documentation, process design and improvement, and solution validation and acceptance.
Oversee business testing activities across assignedprogramand projects, including test case documentation, test execution, and defect management.
Lead BA intake, discovery, and shaping activities to improve the quality of work entering the portfolio.
Provide mobilization support to key initiatives by defining Business Analysis scope, approach, deliverables, and resourcing needs.
Ensure effective requirements management and traceability across the delivery lifecycle.
Support post-implementation reviews and the design of Day 2 operating models, including roles, processes, controls, and hand-offs required for sustainable operations.
12- 15 years of progressive Business Analysis experience, including experience leading teams or a significant Business Analysis function in a large, complex, and preferably regulated environment.
Demonstrated experience implementing or maturing Business Analysis practices, standards, and ways of working in a matrixed organization.
Strong people leadership, coaching, and stakeholder management skills.
Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to translate complex business needs into clear, actionable requirements.
Experience working across strategy, portfolio, and delivery layers and collaborating with both business and technology partners.
Demonstrated ability to work through ambiguity, influence without direct authority, and support organizational change.
Experience contributing to business case development, outcome measurement, and initiative prioritization discussions.
Understanding of Agile, hybrid, and traditional delivery lifecycles.
Experience in a regulated environment; financial services experience is preferred.
University degree in business, technology, or related field
Certifications such as CBAP, PMI-PBA, Agile/Scrum, or Lean Six Sigma are considered assets

The base salary for this position is between $121,200 - $171,200 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
