Position Summary
The role of the Associate Director, Social is responsible for client communication and will develop and oversee execution of digital plans and strategies for our clients. They will also operate as an internal resource for digital subject-matter expertise.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate as key point of contact for agency planning teams and clients.
- Create strong collaborative relationships with the client, planning teams, and specialty business units (SBUs).
- Monitor the goals and KPI’s for a portfolio of clients to ensure on-time and complete delivery of campaigns.
- Ensure all tactical media plan requirements are correctly implemented in digital platforms based on client needs.
- Proven expert in paid media capabilities, ability to find best-in-class solutions for the clients and being up-to-date with the upcoming tools/tech solutions that would work for their overall media strategy.
- Respond to requests for proposals (RFP’s) and briefs and present strategies/plans to the client.
- Sell through innovative solutions and ad formats to test new technology and keep client’s business moving forward and staying ahead of the curve.
- Manage and lead a direct report, or a team of employees. Effectively communicate agency goals, manage workloads, provide ongoing performance feedback and support professional development. Interview and participate in hiring decision of employees if/when required.
- Support a direct report in compiling reports/decks and presenting actionable insights and recommendations to planners/clients.
- Oversee fluid budgets, ensure required signoffs and conduct campaign and budget QAs.
- Expert in the client’s business and build trusted partnerships with all levels of client teams.
- Serve as subject matter expert to teams internally and externally.
- Recognizes and acts on opportunities to develop business with clients. Demonstrate thought-leadership both internally and externally.
- Proactively and independently contribute to and/or prepare media points of view (POVs).
- Understand marketing and communications process, and execute streamlined processes across clients, media partners, and other agencies.
- Identify process gaps and proactively integrate solutions to ensure a collaborative and efficient working relationship (process, timelines, trafficking documents, budgets).
Desired Skills & Experience
- Professional or educational background in Marketing and/or Advertising would give leverage to this application.
- Mid-Senior level of experience in paid social.
- Proven in-depth knowledge of the digital media industry.
- Full understanding of the roles of various digital channels and full-funnel campaigns.
- Proficient in social platforms: Meta, TikTok, Reddit, Pinterest, LinkedIn, Snapchat.
- Strong understanding of trafficking.
- Previous experience working within an advertising agency or with a media partner.
- Experience developing and executing Learning Agendas for clients to improve and evolve their paid social campaigns.
- Ability to develop positive on-going business relationships with a focus on client service.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively apply knowledge and insights gained from research resources to digital media buying.
- Understanding of cross-channel planning and strong coordination of digital and offline media efforts.
- Proficient in data analysis, emerging media and measurement.
- Experience with negotiation and presenting.
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Highly developed organizational skills with a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work collaboratively as well as independently.
- Ability to investigate, analyze & solve problems, and clearly communicate results.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
- Language Requirement: Bilingual (French and English) - Fluent in both languages with the ability to communicate effectively in both written and spoken form.
