Job summary

The YMCA-YWCA of Winnipeg is seeking a Part-Time Youth Worker to support youth ages 13-21 with after-school programming at Glenlawn Collegiate in Winnipeg. Shifts run Monday to Friday, 3:00–6:00 pm on school instructional days.

The role emphasizes creating a safe, respectful and fun environment, building warm relationships with youth and families, and facilitating recreational activities. Applicants must have Emergency First Aid and CPR C, strong communication skills, and be able to travel

Qualifications

• Emergency First Aid and CPR C certification.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with youth and caregivers.
• Ability to travel to a variety of programs throughout Winnipeg.
• Education, training or knowledge for supporting youth is preferred.
• Police record and registry checks required for safe environment.

Responsibilities

• Create a safe, respectful and fun environment for youth requiring additional support.
• Develop warm, caring and responsive relationships with youth and their parents/caregivers.
• Engage in recreational and leisure activities with participants.
