Job summary

YMCA-YWCA WINNIPEG is seeking a part-time Youth Worker to create a safe, engaging environment for youth aged 13-21 at Glenlawn Collegiate in Winnipeg. You will foster caring relationships, lead recreational activities and coordinate with families during after-school hours.

Shifts run Monday to Friday, 3:00–6:00 pm, on school instructional days; a CPR/C First Aid certification, strong communication skills, and ability to travel within Winnipeg are required.

Qualifications

• Emergency First Aid and CPR C certification are required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Ability to travel to a variety of programs throughout Winnipeg is required.
• Education, training and/or demonstrated knowledge working with youth who require additional support is preferred.
• Clear Police Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search, Adult Abuse Registry Check and Child Abuse Registry Check required.

Responsibilities

• Create a safe, respectful and fun environment for youth aged 13-21.
• Develop warm, caring and responsive relationships with youth and their parents/caregivers.
• Engage in recreational and leisure activities with participants.
