Job summary

Karis Disability Services is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to assist individuals with developmental disabilities in daily living, helping them engage with their homes and communities. You will support skill-building, uphold residents' rights, and promote independence in a respectful, person-centered way.

Flexible schedules and multiple locations are available; full-time and part-time options, along with benefits and training opportunities, are offered to eligible staff.

Qualifications

• Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Check.
• Access to reliable transportation.
• 3–6 months experience (volunteer or employment) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with daily living activities and support community integration.
• Support residents to exercise their rights and learn skills for growth and development.

Job description

Direct Support Professional (DSP) employees work with people who experience developmental disabilities as they live in their homes and communities. This position assists people in their daily life, working with them and their connections to ensure that they can live fully in the community. Direct Support Professionals recognize people's rights to direct their life, understanding that each person has unique gifts and needs, and they support people to learn skills for their own growth and development.
