Job summary

Frontmatec-Canada-Quebec seeks a skilled CNC programmer to design and optimize machining programs using Mastercam, G-code, Mazatrol and FANUC software. The role directs machining plans on digital machines, selects material lengths, and validates ERP data before production to maximize profitability.

The candidate will update machining ranges, respond to machinists' requests, contribute to tooling design and jigs, and assist in integrating new parts in the factory.

Qualifications

• Experience programming CNC machines and performing machining with Mastercam is preferred.
• Ability to read specs and validate ERP data before production.
• Knowledge of speeds/feeds for different materials and tools.
• Basic knowledge of G-codes and Mazatrol/FANUC is advantageous.
• Initiative, organization and analytical thinking are essential.

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize machining programs using Mastercam, G-code, Mazatrol and FANUC software.
• Direct machining plans on digital machines to maximize profitability.
• Determine material lengths based on quantities and validate ERP data before production.
• Maintain clear, complete machining ranges for easy interpretation.
• Modify programs per machinists' requests and assist in tooling design.
• Assist in designing jigs and support machining parts implementation.

Job description

• Design and optimize machining programs using Mastercam, G. code, Mazatrol and FANUC software
• Direct machining plans and ranges on digital machines in order to make manufacturing as profitable as possible
• Determine the lengths of materials to be cut according to the quantities to be produced as well as validate the data in the ERP system before putting it into production
• Ensure that you have a clear, complete and up-to-date machining range to facilitate interpretation
• Make changes to programs according to machinists' requests
• Participate in the search for new work tools
• Visualize the final design result in the factory for professional development and future improvement
• Participate in the design of machining jigs
• Supporting machinists during the implementation of new parts
• Draw new jigs (tooling for holding parts during machining) with the MasterCam tool
• Management of raw material losses (plastic used on the router)

Knowledge & Skills Required

• Have worked on CNC machines before

Education & Experience

• DEP in machining techniques combined with an ASP in numerical control OR a DEC in mechanical engineering
