Job summary

Semtech Canada is seeking a 12-16 month Digital IC design internship in Burlington, ON. You will design RTL for digital subsystems, verify with constrained random methods, and collaborate with analog/digital engineers to meet customer specs.

The role entails ownership of tasks, interaction with a cross-functional team, and hands-on bring-up and lab validation of semiconductor products. Strong SystemVerilog/Verilog/VHDL plus C/C++/Python skills are valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Knowledge of SystemVerilog/Verilog/VHDL
• Programming in C/C++, Perl, Python
• Experience with object oriented languages (C++) preferred
• Working knowledge of PC and Unix/Linux operating systems

Responsibilities

• Design RTL block for digital subsystems
• Interpret architecture and detailed design specifications to generate RTL or verification code
• Work with a team to functionally verify a design or component using constrained random functional verification
• Help create scripts and/or methodologies to improve or automate design processes
• Use CAD tools to implement digital designs (Synthesis, DFT insertion, and STA/timing closure)
• Work with analog and digital engineers, system engineers and marketing to meet customer requirements
• Create technical, process or product documentation
• Assist in bring-up, lab debug, validation of products
