About the Opportunity

The Dietitian is responsible for providing safe, ethical, and competent nutrition care. This includes advising on diet and food, supporting nutritional health, preventing, detecting, and treating malnutrition, and participating in the Nutrition Care Process. The role involves leadership within the team, mentoring dietetic students, and employing evidence-informed practices.

The Dietitian collaborates with healthcare team members to ensure quality, continuity, of client care within a holistic, client-centered framework aligned with our mission and values.

About You

We are looking for candidates with:

  • Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition
  • Registration or eligibility with Nova Scotia College of Dietitians and Nutritionists
  • Internship completion required
  • At least 1 year of experience preferred
  • Inpatient clinical nutrition experience is an asset
  • Skills in dysphagia management, enteral and parenteral nutrition
  • Experience counseling patients
  • Current WHMIS certification is an asset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritize and work under pressure
  • Participation in continuing education
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Additional language skills are an asset

  • Part-Time, 30 hours biweekly
Compensation and Benefits

$35.48 - $47.94 hourly

11% in lieu of benefits and vacation
