Kensington Health in Toronto is seeking a Dietary Porter to deliver food and nutrition supplies across the facility while upholding the high service standards required by the Long-Term Care Homes Act, 2021.
You will wash dishes, sweep and mop floors, move stock between storage and work areas, and assist with catering events, ensuring clean surfaces and proper food handling.
The role requires lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for long periods, and following procedures with integrity and teamwork.

The Dietary Porter is responsible for always providing the highest quality of customer service while cleaning food services equipment and delivering food items to meet the needs and expectations of the Kensington Health Centre in accordance with the standards and guidelines of the Long-Term Care Homes Act, 2021.
Washing dishes and pots either by hand or machine.
Sweeping and mopping floors in Food Services areas.
Delivering food and nutrition supplies to different areas of the Facility.
Putting away stock and incoming orders between storage and work areas.
Picking up all catering events throughout the facility.
Cleaning and sanitizing of work tables, walls, refrigerators and kitchen equipment.
All other tasks as assigned.
Demonstrated exceptional customer service skills, willing to go beyond the basics.
Ability to work under supervision and follow standard procedures.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg) occasionally with appropriate safe lifting techniques or assistance.
Personal and professional integrity, appearance, and demeanour.
Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods.
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull food carts and supplies.
Ability to perform repetitive bending, reaching, and lifting.
Ability to work in hot, cold, and wet environments.
One (1) year experience with at least one year in a health organization.
Compliance with all health and safety standards.
Knowledge of Canada’s Food Guide, basic MOHLTC nutritional requirements and infection control.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Food Handler Certificate.
