Extendicare is hiring a Part-time Food Service Worker to join our culinary team in Canada. You will assist with plating and serving meals, help with cleaning serving areas and equipment, and follow established safety and infection control policies.

The role requires the ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate to heavy items, with flexibility for days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. We value experienced dietary staff, current Food Handler's Certificate, and enrollment in a Food

Qualifikationen

• Successful completion and/or enrollment in a Food Service Worker Program per Ontario Long-Term Care Homes Act requirements.
• Current Food Handler's Certificate.
• Previous dietary experience preferred in LTC (Long Term Care).
• Ability to read and write English and understand simple verbal and written instructions.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods and perform moderate to heavy lifting.

Observes time limits for meal serving. Maintains foods at proper serving temperature.Assists Cooks to clean and prepare such uncooked food as salads, vegetables, and fruits. Follow basic instructions in preparing such simple foods as breakfast items, basic desserts, and garnishes.Clears plates and trays, loads, and operates dishwasher. Cleans pots, pans, and cooking utensils as per procedure.Participates in proper storage and labeling of dietary supplies and food, including leftovers.Adheres to established departmental policies, procedures regarding quality assurance, fire, safety, environment, and infection control.Assemble nourishment carts. Stocks unit kitchenettes.Participates in facility meetings as assigned.
