Job summary

Extendicare in Alberta is seeking a part-time dietary aide to support meal service for residents. You will serve food according to individual diets, clear tables, and assist with kitchen duties in a compassionate, senior-care environment.

The role requires standing for long periods, attention to safety, ability to lift, and availability for days, evenings, weekends and holidays. You will join a mission-driven team and receive a competitive compensation and benefits package.

Qualifications

• Able to read and follow dietary routines and instructions.
• Able to lift moderate to heavy loads as required.
• Willing to work days, evenings, weekends and statutory holidays.

Responsibilities

• Serve meals and fluids to residents according to diets and preferences.
• Clear plates, load dishwasher, and maintain clean dining areas.
• Assist with proper storage and labeling of dietary supplies and leftovers.
• Attend facility meetings and partake in in-service education programs.
• Work as part of the food services team with safety practices.

Job DescriptionRESPONSIBILITIESServes food and fluids to residents according to individual diets and preferences.Clears plates and trays, loads, and operates dishwasher. Cleans dishes, pots, pans, and cooking utensils as per procedure.Participates in proper storage and labeling of dietary supplies and food, including leftovers.Adheres to established departmental policies, procedures regarding quality assurance, fire, safety, environment, and infection control.Assembles nourishment carts. Stocks unit kitchenettes.Participates in facility meetings as assigned.
