Job summary

Sienna Senior Living is hiring a part-time Dietary Aide at Woods Park Community and Retirement in Barrie, ON. You will contribute to residents’ daily lives through food service, meal preparation, and compassionate care in a long-term care setting.

You’ll work in a team that values dignity, respect, and meaningful connections, with a focus on safe food handling and personalized dining experiences for residents. This position offers a supportive culture and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Must have Safe Food Handler’s Certificate or be willing to obtain one.
• Legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work permit.
• Must pass a Vulnerable Sector Check and/or Criminal Record Check.
• Demonstrates compassion and commitment to seniors’ quality of life.
• Experience in institutional, healthcare, restaurant, or hospitality food service is a plus.

What You’ll Be Doing

You will be a welcomed member of the Long Term Care team, working in a fast-paced environment where you will make a meaningful difference in residents’ lives. As a Dietary Aideyou will do meaningful work everyday ensuring a safe and clean environment for residents’. As an individual and part of a wider team, you will be a strong contributor to the culture of the home, where the focus is always on helping residents live fully, every day.

How You’ll Succeed

• Food Preparation & Food Handling
• Assist with the preparation of meals, and serving meals
• Follow residents' diets and food preferences
• Take the menu orders from the residents
• Set and clear tables in the dining rooms and ensure they are sanitized
• Ensure you are following proper food handling techniques

Who You Are

• Have a valid Safe Food Handler’s Certificate or willing to obtain
• You are committed to providing compassionate support that provides seniors to live their lives to the fullest
• You are detailed-oriented coupled with strong customer service skills enabling you to effectively communicate with residents and staff
• You may bring experience in food service from institutional, healthcare, restaurant, or hospitality
• While possessing a Food Service Worker Certificate would be excellent, it’s not a requirement
• You must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work permit
• You must successfully pass a Vulnerable Sector Check and/or Criminal Record Check applicable to the appropriate province
