Job summary

Creedan Valley Community is seeking a Dietary Aide in a long-term care setting to provide compassionate dining services to residents. You will help prepare and serve meals, follow individualized diets, and interact with residents to support dignity and comfort.

We value empathy, teamwork, and reliable service, with a focus on safe food handling and respectful daily interactions that honor each resident's life story and preferences.

Qualifications

• Valid Safe Food Handler’s Certificate or willingness to obtain.
• Commitment to compassionate support for seniors.
• Detail-oriented with strong customer service skills.
• Experience in institutional/healthcare/food service.
• Food Service Worker Certificate not required.
• Legally eligible to work in Canada or valid work permit.
• Willing to pass Vulnerable Sector Check/Criminal Record Check.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Be Doing

You will be a welcomed member of the Long Term Care team, working in a fast-paced environment where you will make a meaningful difference in residents’ lives. As a Dietary Aide you will do meaningful work everyday ensuring a safe and clean environment for residents’. As an individual and part of a wider team, you will be a strong contributor to the culture of the home, where the focus is always on helping residents live fully, every day.

How You’ll Succeed

1. Food Preparation & Food Handling

• Assist with the preparation of meals, and serving meals
• Follow residents' diets and food preferences
• Take the menu orders from the residents
• Set and clear tables in the dining rooms and ensure they are sanitized
• Ensure you are following proper food handling techniques

Who You Are

• Have a valid Safe Food Handler’s Certificate or willing to obtain
• You are committed to providing compassionate support that provides seniors to live their lives to the fullest
• You are detailed-oriented coupled with strong customer service skills enabling you to effectively communicate with residents and staff
• You may bring experiencein food servicefrom institutional, healthcare, restaurant, or hospitality
• While possessing a Food Service Worker Certificate would be excellent, it’s not a requirement
• You must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work permit
• You must successfully pass a Vulnerable Sector Check and/or Criminal Record Check applicable to the appropriate province
